We are very quickly approaching the Women’s Dorset County Cup semi- final. This weeks focus is on Poole Town Ladies Reserves player Georgia Kemp.

This is Georgia’s debut season with Poole. She has hit the ground running, scoring two goals in her first three games whilst playing on the wing, which has made her hungry for more. She is especially proud of her second goal, as it was struck from a great distance and dipped just under the bar to beat the keeper. What a scorcher!
Georgia has played sports all her life but primarily a swimming superstar growing up as she competed in Regional finals. This meant she had to train 9 times a week as a child! Between the ages of 10 and 12, Georgia played for Branksome United and then had a brief spell for Boscombe Albion. Unfortunately she gave football up to compete in swimming at the age of 13. After this gap, she started to play again in her third year of University and then had a smaller break for a year, before joining Poole Town Ladies at the start of this season.
Having played her first few games for the first team, she missed the start of the Dorset Ladies league which saw Poole have a rocky start whilst they awaited clearance for their new coach, Charlie Rees. Georgia says since the arrival of Charlie, the team have continued to bond and progress, continuing to go from strength to strength.
Poole Town Ladies are currently sat 2nd the Dorset County League with a game in hand behind current leaders Dorchester Town Ladies, in additional they have made it into the semi-final of the Dorset Ladies County Cup.
TThe morale is high because of the league position but it will be an interesting semi final against Poole Town Ladies Firsts. Last time Poole Town Ladies faced their first team was in the County Cup Final in 2017, where the firsts ran away with the result 11-0. Georgia knows that the girls in the Dorset team will want to prove that they are a strong side and will put up a fight to win. Both teams are extremely close with great togetherness so the semi-final is set to be a real thriller!
