As we have been unable to attend any games for a few weeks, we have caught up with Wimborne Town Ladies Captain Sophie Parsons.

Sophie has been playing football with her four brothers growing up, but wasn’t until she was sixteen that she got involved with a women’s team. She is a versatile player who over her playing years has covered most positions on the pitch but currently playing up front for Wimborne Town Ladies.

Wimborne Town Ladies are a newly formed team by Sophie and her girlfriend Sammy, they created this team to get more women involved in the game and wanted to create a team where the players were able to enjoy playing football. We recently watched their game vs Bournemouth Sports Development Team, it certainly looked like everyone worked hard for each other and had a great time. You can watch Wimborne and Sophie in action in the Dorset Women’s League, more information on their fixtures on their twitter account Wimborne Town Ladies.
Playing in the Dorset Women’s League means Sophie can once again represent Dorset which she has done in previous years giving one hundred percent every time she plays.
Her and Sammy are avid AFC Bournemouth supporters who go to every Bournemouth game when they can. Everyone at Green Line Journalism wish Sophie, Sammy and the rest of the Wimborne Ladies all the best for the season ahead and look forward to covering some of your games in the future.
